You actually have to work to get the first few diamonds, then you are able to create a portal to Aroma's mining Dimension. :)

Well, Sanguimancy 1.1.8 was released yesterday. Yes, yesterday. You guys missed it :D It includes the portal system @Gideonseymour posted about earlier, and more stuff. Changelog is here. Download it there!

That just means you didn't do the research, you cannot craft anything if the research isn't done before. The cheat sheet unlocks all the research, so it's normal it works
