Well, I think I figured it out. I had the launcher exe in c:/program files folder which has restricted access. Moving it to the c:/user folder resolved the problem.

I have the same problem. Same error, same conditions. It happens when creating a new world or loading an existing world. I've been through the support site and there are no answers there either. If there is any more information on this subject, I would like to know. Is this problem known about...
