Summary of the problem Vanilla chests cannot be opened

What is the bug? After the latest update to Direwolf20 1.12-1.12.2-1.5.0 i can no longer open vanilla chests. All other inventories i checked still worked fine.

title says it all. my infinite game just updated to 1.0.1 and NEI doesn't work or show up in game at all, not listed in control options either. everything is on the default install.
