Right, I have the two pylons adjacent to the Auto E-Table, but they don't register :( Should I try positioning them differently?

Has anyone tried getting these two to work? When I attempted today with two pylons the table only let the enchantment level go up to 8 instead of the 30 that the lexica botania said it would.
