    Another mistake with the 1.0.4 release is that the server has version 1.12 of Compact machines and the client has version 1.16. It wont let you join the server unless you manually update it.

    I have the same issue. This is my first time installing material energy 4 and I downloaded the 1.0.4 version. EDIT: Fixed it by force downloading 1.0.3 and then force downloading 1.0.4
