Do i need ANY permissions when making a custom pack to use on a server?

How would i go about making a custom modpack for smp play? then having my friend be able to download it as well.

So i've been trying to do this but using AE in the place of golems. but it just wont pull out the items to start crafting been working on this for about 2ish hours now and i just dont know what im doing work.

So i decided to start playing with msytcraft and when i got my book ready went to the binder put my pages in(i have leather in as well) and a descriptive book never shows up and i can't figure out why also tired to make a linking book with no luck this is in creative/SMP

every time i try to join my own server i get the Lost con end of stream i have been searching for hours now and haven't been able to fix it. any ideas?

im playing on DW20 1.5.2 and theres a minimap on screen. but i havent been able to find any hotkeys that open the GUI and i can't even find a "minimap" source mod with in the mod folder. any ideas?
