Opttifine has an option to make the water clear and I want to only use that feature. Optifine gives me some pretty annoying graphical issues and all I want is my god damn clear water. Could I extract that .class file and put it in minecraft.jar or something similar ?

It just doesn't work ! Optifine is not compatible with RR 1.6.4. I like Optifine, it's very useful. I'm pretty sure the modders would have added it if it were compatible (because they seem to have tried to add EVERYTHING)
