What's new in modded minecraft today?

[SIZE=4]IC2 forum quoting is being retarded... But anyway, this is rather interesting... Apparently, Greg's world gen configs will allow you a lot of control over how ores spawn, and even allow you to define up to 16 custom ores and 16 custom ore clusters to generate:

He still has all the major ores, though quite frankly mods like TE and similar just don't work very well with Gregtech's sense of balance. All the other mods I can think of which aren't similar to TE can fit into this quite nicely. And the philosophy of complexity = depth is exactly what makes...

Of course, Greg wouldn't be Greg if he didn't implement something unpopular: Although, do note that replacing vanilla ores doesn't necessarily mean that he's reducing the spawning rates of these ores. For all we know, he may actually be increasing them, or making them easier to find. I also...

Oh god GREG WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE YOUR ADDON THIS COOL (Sorry for quote spam, fortunately the forum automatically compresses them) And this has to be my favorite change: And i haven't even caught up to the latest page of the Gregtech thread yet... EDIT: Oh, oh...

The Overworld is Overrated (Nether-Only Picture-through)

Grinding* Notice there's no Thermal Expansion on that list. This was on purpose. Also, It's not for paper, it's for sugar. And I suppose it's not absolutely vital, but it will cut out a lot of things for me... I'll probably add a recipe to convert heat vines into sugar or something.

The Overworld is Overrated (Nether-Only Picture-through)

Santa, you have inspired me to follow your lead with my own version of this challenge, though with fewer mods: The only issues I can find with this is the lack of dirt production, and the lack of ender pearls. I'm not sure what I can add to fix this, that won't be adding mods that mess up my...

A magic mod with a power system ...

It would also break Thaumcraft balance, and Azanor's purpose for nodes, (to encourage and indeed require exploration) no matter how much fiddling and balancing you did.

    Living with a God-Mode Quarry

Orrrr, put them next to a field of wind mills. Or solar panels. Or the fusion reactor... This is why many people call Dartcraft unbalanced.

The roof of the nether is at 128. Ninjas everywhere.

I thought you said you're using an aqueous accumulator in the overworld for water?

Just wanna mention, since you seem to be going through a lot to get cobblestone... Igneous Extruder.

I wonder how this would play out with Rotarycraft as the main tech mod instead of TE... Or Makanism... (Nether ores adds osmium as well) Oooo, or even Gregtech! I'm definitely doing that once it updates to 1.7.

What's new in modded minecraft today?

Everything I put in my post I got from the Gregtech thread, and even after removing all posts not made by Greg I still had to sift through five pages just to find that quote. It was made awhile ago, though. Also, at any rate, Greg has said that he still plans on using IC2 for some things. (He...

Let's also not forget about reactors, both nuclear and fusion. (The reactorcraft one in particular is quite a nice little engineering challenge, with a large energy reward. A simple 3x3 core an easily produce around 160,000 RF/t) But anyway, derails FTW!

    [0.5.1] Technomancy Discussion-Ore processing like a boss

I'm pretty sure altars can already be accessed by automation, and if so then it can be easily automated using a steady blood source (a well of suffering or a fluiduct filled with blood) and some item ducts. Just be sure to remember to filter the item duct for the finished item, as the altar...

    [0.5.1] Technomancy Discussion-Ore processing like a boss

No, there are many tier of altar, each tier higher costs progressively more and more resources (primarily blood) to craft. Allowing transposer recipes would break that progression, or just be useless as there's really nothing you can do at tier 0 except upgrade to tier 1.

Also, the altar drains and fills slowly, unless you upgrade it with Runes of Dislocation.

A machine for converting LP in orbs into liquid blood, perhaps with some loss, would also be nice.
