[DW20 1.5.2 Beta Pack] Is this a bug or did TConstruct change it?

It sounds like you're trying to pour the aluminum brass into a pattern. What you should be doing it pouring it into an empty table to make a blank pattern, then making it into the stencil pattern you want. You can then use the aluminum brass pattern in the casting table and pour your material of...

An out of the box approach...

To me, buildcraft is an emergency solution until I can get TE conduits and liquiducts running (and recently AE). I'll use it sparingly for items when no alternative presents itself, but I prefer not to. Oil I turn off to avoid the eyesore, and I avoid quarries for the same reason (sure I could...

    Redpower successor?

He's being, shall we say 'testy', because everything you've said so far has been done to death in every single Redpower thread ever. You are indeed being ignorant, if of nothing else, then of the many, many debates which have gone before (and which you can find scattered around the forum if you...

    I heard you liked Iridium

He means that when a single cobble block (1m3) would weigh a good 5000 pounds in the real world, worrying about weight at all seems a little pointless. Yes Osmium has about 10 times the density of rock, but they aren't telling us how large the ingots are. Stone we know the size of ;).

    I heard you liked Iridium

Look for High Speed Steel or HSS. It's used in cutting instruments and tools, although it's not always made with tungsten - sometimes it's vanadium or some other stuff I can't remember at the moment.

[1.5.2] [Public Mod Pack] ShneekeyCraft: Less Is More!

I'm all for an earlier release. I use your pack specifically because it has a small number of mods, and because, happily, those mods are some of my favourites. I don't think I would add more than one or two mods myself, if even that. And in the event that I did, I doubt they'd be mods from the...

Greg Tech opinion discussions go here

I've been getting a lot of blank pages and the 'retry for fresh copy' thing, too. Since yesterday I guess, although I suppose that could be down to me reloading more often since I started keeping up with these new debates.

The future of FTB Modpacks pt 2

Umm, mate? You don't read Terms of Service / licence agreements very often, do you? Using Windows as an example, the microsoft standard licence clearly tells you that you may not modify their software, use it in ways detrimental to others (they even include the use of your internet connection in...

We're talking about the same Greg who lets you centrifuge mycelium into mushrooms and store large amounts of energy in a chunk of lapis lazuli, right?

Ironic, isn't it? So often the reverse has been true. It's not 'one mistake'. It's the latest on an increasing pile of nonsensical, malicious, vindictive or arrogant mistakes he's been racking up over the past few months. This is just the latest, and arguably the most severe. Reading through...

What, is Greg abandoning minecraft modding, too?

Ultimate 1.5.2 ... Greg vs mDiyo

Congratulations, you completely missed the point of the thread. Nobody cares that TC is generating free metal, the topic is whether or not it's appropriate of Greg to blast users with server messages encouraging players to message-spam mDiyo until he changes the way TC works.

Ultimate 1.5.2 ... Greg vs mDiyo

Hm, that's a good point. In that case you could well be right that it's the same, I'll have to go check. Alright, I've checked. A fiery pickaxe with fortune does not behave the same way, and only returns the appropriate 9 ingots when used on a storage block.

Ultimate 1.5.2 ... Greg vs mDiyo

No, the special thing about this particular case is that TC allows you to combine autosmelting and fortune in a way which lets fortune affect _anything_ that can be smelted.

Ultimate 1.5.2 ... Greg vs mDiyo

As much as we idolize the people who make these mods for us to play with, there is no entrance exam to mod making. They just need to have the programming skill to make the mod; there's no rule saying they have to be responsible, kind, respectful, mature or posses any other such virtue. If you...

Ultimate 1.5.2 ... Greg vs mDiyo

Considering that the whole idea of ore-doubling is a bit silly to begin with, I honestly can't see much difference between hitting something with a fortune + autosmelt tool, or sticking a piece of ore into the automated sequence of magic output-increasing blocks we all have. Things other than...
