I would try to force update the mod pack in options, or backdate if you are not using the recommended build. Also beware that FTB monster is an extremely large mod pack so you may have problems with just because it is so big.

Just set yourself in-game rules. For example, this world I promised to use forestry rather than MFR. Lengthens your gameplay, makes your gaming more interesting and in the end you still get to the stage of having ridiculous power, it just comes from ethanol rather than charcoal.

Yeah, but te3 is designed to be a server friendly mod whereas ic2 is being rebuilt and is experimental. Bugs do happen with that kind of thing.

It could be chunks unloading. Try using a chunk loader in that place. If you are already using one try a different kind.

Just a question, but why do wooden tool rods give better durability when combined with stone? Surely stone is better.

I've got no idea what it is then. It seems strange that a mod would change that, it may be speed effects or something else.

Are you sure that it is not a change in vanilla from 1.5-1.6?

I use a tree farm which produces rf in steam dynamos.

Steam dynamos produce 40 rf/t which is 4mj/t, not 8.
