Update on this. It actually DOES work, even though you can't see the output. If you click (or shift click) the output slot (which looks empty). The next time you open your inventory you'll see all the items that should be created.

So bukkitforge doesn't work on macs? or is NBT explorer something different? is it one of the plugins for bukkitforge? I don't see any bukkitforge tutorials for mac, but some do include (do this if on a mac), but they don't seem to work properly.
