I didn't play a lot of mindcrack, but my first strip mine got me like 4 or 5 iridium in less than an hour, that is probably just luck but a smart strip mine in Mindcrack might even be faster then the massfab in DW20

The problem with fully automating reactors is that they are prone to misbehaving during lag spikes and server restarts/crashes. As said, the best designs are the ones that monitor the reactor itself, not just time, but those are also more expensive and hard to automate

Forestry 2 will change apatite, it is now rarer and spawns above ground (mountains, etc.) but it also drops more than one per ore and spawns in large veins. They also nerfed ash, so self sustaining systems will need apatite now

Remember that minecraft leveling is linear until level 30, so leveling past there is wasteful.
