How much lag can microblocks cause?

Cheers man. So it does affect me, but relatively alot less than machines. I can make that work. :) My machine is in need of an upgrade now, but if microblocks affect me less than machines, then I should be ok for the most part. :) Not trying to fellate your posterior here, but your answers are...

How much lag can microblocks cause?

So it's down to field of view, rather than chunk-loaded status? Because it's a tower, and I expect there'll never be a whole lot of them in view at once, but there'll be alot tucked away, some of them onscreen but hidden behind blocks at certain angles, will a microblock that's in field-of-view...

How much lag can microblocks cause?

I'm doing a build that uses a fairly large amount of microblocks. And I'm wondering just how significant the performance hit could be? I'm aware this is a rather vaguely framed question, I'm just wondering if it could completely kill my performance or not.

    So, Thaumcraft 4.2 node bullying

This... and this Are very good ideas, and maybe they belong together. :P Hmmm... Dimension nuking with hungry nodes. This concepts pleases me. It pleases me alot.

    So, Thaumcraft 4.2 node bullying

I just find it entertaining to push the limits of these systems. :P But at the same time... I like to be safe with my worlds. I'm not talking about making a node as large as I'll need. I just want to see what happens to a hungry node when it gets far larger than any node should be. :P

    So, Thaumcraft 4.2 node bullying

I'm gonna stress test this at some point. I'll make a backup of my world and throw a few chestfuls of crafting tables at a hungry node and see what happens. :P

Cheers, glad to hear you're enjoying it! :) Still got alot to learn with building, but I like challenging myself like I did with that, keeps things fresh :)

    Curiouskey's FTB Infinity World Journal

Update #8: Re-designed the staircase: There we have it, making good progress. :) I'm very happy with the re-design of the staircase, and designing it gave me fresh ideas for the look of the tower as well. Looking forward to getting to work on it. :) As usual, for those interested in...

    So, Thaumcraft 4.2 node bullying

I just wouldn't wanna risk making something that crashes as soon as it loads, because I have no clue how I'd remove it to save my world :P

    So, Thaumcraft 4.2 node bullying

Been watching discussion about feeding hungry nodes with crafting tables with interest. Is there any sort of limit I should avoid going beyond, say... Is it possible for me to crash or corrupt my world by making a node too large? :P

    So, Thaumcraft 4.2 node bullying

Thanks guys. Ok so there are reasons to do it both ways when it comes centivis, but groups of nodes charge wands faster. That makes sense. :)

    So, Thaumcraft 4.2 node bullying

Would this mean that a good goal would be to create one super-node with this system to fulfill all your needs, rather than having a group of them?

    Sonofthelion LP Season 2

Nice, I like your starter house :) Though if you want a teensy weensy bit of advice, I'd suggest experimenting with making the walls less flat, perhaps bring the stone parts of your house out one block? It's already a really nice house, but sometimes making the walls more three-dimensional can...

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

I wonder what a buildcraft filler would do if you used them in it. But that's just me... Trying to make things break in potentially hilarious ways is my first instinct when I see this kind of thing. :P

What cool little thing have you discovered today?

....Wow. So let me get this straight: I can infinitely mine the block, and each time I place it, it's the full-sized giant block that gets placed? That could have.... Interesting uses.

    Curiouskey's FTB Infinity World Journal

Thanks :) that's actually a really cool guide. At this point I've actually got the staircase pretty much sorted out though :) and as I sync the updates here with my youtube upload schedule, the update will be here on friday, roughly 8pm London time. :)

What do you recommend for my situation?

Well I've never hosted from Creeperhost, but I imagine that will be ok, and if you need a bit more, getting an upgraded package shouldn't be hard. :) On the subject of configs, all I did myself was edit BoP as you said, and added extrabiomes. The pack honestly works well enough without any...

    Curiouskey's FTB Infinity World Journal

The thing is, the plan isn't to use that space efficiently. :P By far the largest part of the design is purely aesthetic. Most of my regular infrastructure will probably be either inside the tower, or perhaps inside the base of the trunk. The build is meant to be just that, a build. I never plan...

    Looking for an engaging pack

For 1.7, if you want a "kitchen sink" (read, theme-less) pack, go for Infinity. A huge selection of mods, so you have plenty of freedom with how you want to play. If you want something more focused, you could give one of the HQM (Hardcore-Questing-Mod) based packs, such as Blast Off, Regrowth...
