To be honest, RP2 is not that vital. I mean, I love that mod and I can't wait to start playing around with that, but every single thing I plan on doing doesn't need RP2. It would surely be way simpler to build, but we have plenty of less cool alternatives to play around with while we wait for Elo ;)

Well, I used to live in a 9 by 9 trademarked design by DW20 and it was super easy to sort out every wiring/storage matters. Now I'm planning to work on a well designed house, but I don't want to start my 1.4 world until Rp2 and Xycraft come out.

I think that the Magic Pack is at its very early stages, there are tons of awesome magic based mods fully developed, but it requires time to put them together, solving conflict, getting permissions and stuff. Maybe the FTB team decided to add some of the not so magical mods to the pack waiting...

For my personal experience, I think that if storing steam was more easy, nobody would ever do anything else. It's way too easy to set up a fully automatic steam production facility (forestry tree farm for charcoal, wheat farm for compost to autocraft humus) and you're done, plenty of steam to...

The only way I've come up with so far to generate sand is generating cobble first and then macerating/pulverizing it.

I think here's where Mystcraft truly comes in handy ;)
