Yep, you are running slow Pascal. Something is causing your Java to not execute ticks fast enough, possibly connection, possibly asset allocation *shrug*

I went and checked out the blaze spawner, and sat in it for a bit. I think you probably descynched for a little while, like it does when two people myst portal near each other and it doesn't always render both people to the other. So the fire was there just not rendering on your client.

Getting stuck at the Mojang symbol is usually caused by a memory error in Java. Even if it doesn't show it, there is usually a crash log or report in your .minecraft folder, may be under the forge-log heading. See if it says anything there about running out of memory or having issues loading...

It should be part of the ExtraUtilities mod, which should be in the download folder. You might have gotten a partial or corrupted download on one of the files. That's happened to me before. Try redownloading the files.

There are several memory arguments for Java, I think you are actually running out of max memory not Permgen in this instance. Your argument should read -Xmx(number of memory) so if you are increasing Permgen size as well as giving it more memory overall to work with it would be Java...

500 is a generic error code, if you can send me the log file I'll see if I can figure out what is amiss

The server is 1.6.2, but I think if you download the correct forge version, latest 1.6.2, it will still work, as it sets up an alternate MC version in the normal client window
