You use manaesence to repair artifacts in an anvil. Mix it in a crafting grid with the material your artifact is made from to get the correct type. IE an "Iron horn of self tooting" needs iron infused manaessence. O and you get manaessence by breaking down artifacts a crafting grid.

Still loving the pack! Here is my little island nation. I added extra utilities as dungeon loot only and had some luck with a Sigil, Lasso and Iron spike. Quite happy with the spike above the dark aurum nexus. With a piston I can either get essence or mob drops.

You can convert oak saplings in a mana pool into jungle wood saplings which grow vines when placed as a 2 x 2. It's oak -> birch -> jungle iirc.
