    It was indeed caused by special characters, "#" and ":" to be exact. I would recommend to change that, since both are part of the printable ascii character set, which is recommended for save passwords nowadays. Thanks for the help.

    yes, contents of the file is "0000000000000000000000000000000000003a3a" whatever i enter as name or password. Also, adding the profile without "remember password", it works fine.
