Copying over your Ultimate Server folder should work; I would recommend backing up your world just in case though.

One thing I noticed about this pack that it has one clear progression path. You create a basic TE machine setup, then farms with MFR. Somewhere in there you will also get a MPS. You get a quarry with Buildcraft, and maybe a basic sorting system with the help of Additional Pipes and Iron Chests...

It is not out yet. And there has been no ETA given. So you'll just need to wait :)

I believe that as of right now, no packs will be updated to a new MC version until 1.6, but a new beta pack for 1.5 will be created. It will be based of Ultimate, but will not have any mods that are not updated (obviously). Ars Magica, Tinker's Construct, Natura and OpenCCSensors are all planned...

I was aware of all three versions of MFFS, but Bigglesworth, your post seemed to suggest that there were three different version 3s of MFFS. Anyway, I agree, MFFS Classic will probably be the one included in FTB packs.

I don't know what else has changed apart from what has been written in the thread, but I love the fact that access to the End is required to create a soul shard (although I think Ars Magica might use End Stone in some of it's structures?).
