I can confirm this aswell, when placing items in the internal inventory of the inventory panel, and having it be extracted from there using Ender IO, it takes some time before the items show up.

unstable ingots can be crafted inside the halo's, but you can't set the recipes onto the halo's, because to be able to do that, you need to exit the crafting grid, but as soon as you do that, you'll die.

I haven't tried that out yet, I'll probably do that in a creative world :P
