    I have found that cobblestone structure pipes with gates and pipe wire work well as instant connections whenever you need facades. Put an iron OR/AND gate to redstone signal --> red pipe wire on your input side, and on the output side red pipe wire --> redstone signal. It's my poor man's MFR...
