If you have both perception plus the spectacles a golem can just barely cover a 27x27, in my testing, however because you want the straw golems to replant in most cases I've found you need at least 2 straws with the spectacles to cover the 27x27 area, and 1 wooden with perception and spectacles.

Another way is to dump a bunch of stuff with the Potentia aspect into a crucible and let it into the atmosphere as flux. Do to a mis-count on my part I did just that and got struck by lightning 3 times within a minute, granted my flux was already high but geez.

The pure nodes have a star burst in the center of it. while the regular nodes just look like clouds. It is kinda hard to identify the star burst on a smaller node. Also silverwood trees always have a pure nodes inside of them so that is another way without having to know what to look for.

I was growing a node today, got it up to 300+ I found the best way for me was to plant 2 saplings roughly 15 blocks apart, 7-10 seems to be the limit for attraction between nodes. Once they had both grown, and had full vis, plant a third in the middle of the two. All three will then form 1 node...

I had the same issue, and my wand wouldn't even charge. The way I fixed it was going into the thaumcraft 3 config and setting the auranodes to regenerate.

It can only be attributable to human error.
