I also updated to 1.3.1 and can not load my original save from 1.2.5. It gets to the loading screen but gets stuck at trying to load dimension 1. I tried loading the world from 1.3.1 even though it says it's still 1.2.8 but the file name is 1.3.1. I get the same error that a mariculture arrow...
