Derp, nevermind. Changed it on the server config file not the client one. Fixed!

I'm hosting a small server and trying to unlock the brightness video setting in the random things file. I set that hardcore darkness value to false, rebooted server & client, yet the video setting is still locked. Am I missing something else?

I'm running this off the FTB launcher. At the risk of sounding lazy, modifying configs on an FTB modpack seems like something I shouldn't have to do; the world doesn't need so much copper & tin etc. so shouldn't it just come delivered off the launcher with that already done? I do have a dumb...

Someone else asked this as well, and I didn't see anyone respond to it, but what is the deal with the scarcity of iron ore? We're also having issues finding gold & diamonds but this could be chalked up to the general rarity of these vanilla ores. But iron in particular...we're not finding...
