yeah, that was the problem. I feel pretty silly. I have my brightness up all the way and just didn't think about it.

I'm not able to get anything to grow except for trees unless i use bone meal/fertilizer. ive tried both garden soil and farmland. Sorry if this is already a known issue but I didn't see this in the FAQ and i don't want to read 23 pages of comments T.T

I have no idea where to find the debugger for nightmare 0.01, I checked nightmare, the end hard drive and the end dimension. even killed the ender dragon so i could look around a bit easier. Blah. I'm so bad at exploring.
