I was fighting the ender dragon, but a ghast's fireball dealt the last blow, and I didn't get credit for the kill. So what the hell do I do now? Is there a way to respawn the dragon?

Whilst frantically fighting in the Nightmare, I came across a "VM Balck Wool" that dropped from a mob Is this accidental or is it meant to be a troll? Because I was very disappointed when the quest book wouldn't recognize it...
