I did a little bit of research. The AMD FX-8350 blows away the i7 2600k as well, has 8 cores, clocked at 4 gigahertz(overclockable too!), and cheaper. :p Note: Clock speed does not decide how fast a processor is. That's judged by architecture.

I can't say I'd recommend the i7. The Xeon I suggested is cheaper, benchmarks higher, and still has 4 cores.

I was not suggesting an apple computer. I was suggesting a computer that had the same specs(Xeon, Dual GPUs).

I run perfectly with Java 8.

Uninstall the 32 bit version. Sometimes the launcher prefers it for some reason.

Install 64 bit Java 7. Also, more then 3 gigs of RAM dedicated is not recommended unless you have a big texture pack/shaders.

What generation i5? And is this a laptop or desktop? Laptop CPUs are often underclocked and locked.

CVT unit can be controlled with redstone and acts like a variable bedrock gearbox. It needs bedrock to make though.
