    thanks, muuch too annoying trying to get them from endermen... you been taking tips from underpants gnomes though? not sure that's best tactic but will try it, when you say "entirely" does that mean the doors don't even need supporting blocks like frames?

    useing a house of doors makes you able to manage the population better than a villager spaner build (in my opinion). Don't know who Underpants Gnome is....so long as the blocks "behind" the door extend back 5, the door is considered a "house". it might be 3 blocks back.

    theoretically I do not believe it needs a floor so long as there is a "roof" blocking sunlight.

    I wouldn't say entirely. roof should not be made out of doors. doesn't block sunlight properly.
