Anyway to drain excess MJ from commercial steam engines?

Railcraft engines shut down when energy builds up because it is not being used. They are meant to only be turned on when needed. There are ways to automate this with Buildcraft gates. For a simple solution place a gate on the wooden kinesis pipe set to emit redstone on the condition of "Power...

Did the BC Pump get nerfed?

As I recall, the limiting factor is not the amount power the pump receives but how quickly you get the liquid out of it. Try placing an enderttank directly against the pump, or several, with no ducts or pipes in between.

[FTB Monster] - Biofuel/Ethanol/Biomass Help - Saplings and Cacti Farm [HELP]

For a non-powered cactus farm any type of block breaker will work. Place a TE3 terrain smasher above each cactus and they will be harvested as soon as they grow.

    FTB Master Configs

Mariculture and Forbidden Magic both use enchantment id 68 in the Master Configs. Mariculture uses it for "Spiderman", and Forbidden Magic uses it for "Capitalist".

Best way to make large amounts of TC Alumite?

You can still use the part builder. The smeltery is simply more efficient. Further, it takes two ingots to remake a block. It's all very logical. Once you accept the absurd premise that molten obsidian /= lava. :boggle:

Getting Started guide to Magic Farm 2

Some useful tips about food once you get a bit of iron to complete the HC kitchen set: Sugar can be used with most fruits to make jelly, which is slightly better than juice. Sugar can also be made from honey, if you decide to start bee keeping early. Peanuts, combined with bread and jelly, can...

Anyone have an idea how to quarry the nether?

Milk. It does a quarry good. Tested in Unleashed 1.1.7 Nether-placeable liquids that will cool lava: milk (pictured), chocolate milk, mushroom soup, meat, biofuel (MFR), sludge, sewage, mob essence, oil (BC, flammable in 1.6), destabilized redstone. Resonant ender can be placed and will...

    Pumpkin Power (pictures)

"Leftover sugar cane goes to a cyclic assembler to be turned into sugar which itself goes either of two places." A pulverizer would double the sugar produced. Was this a deliberate decision or were you unaware?

    Liquificated Coal questions

    Costs: Pulverized Coal = 2,400RF, Liquifacted Coal (100mB) = 8,000RF, Total = 10,400RF Yield: 1 Coal (Steam Dynamo) = 32,000RF, 1B LCoal = 1,000,000RF, 100mB LCoal = 100,000RF Profit: 100,000 - 10,400 (Processing) = 89,600RF per Coal Melting coal yields 2.8 times the energy of raw coal in a...

    Bee keeping not working

First, you do not need forest bees to start. Forest and meadows (and marbled) are the easiest species to use to reach your first goals, which should be common and cultivated, but they can be done with any of the wild hive bees, including modest. Also, all of the wild bees are in your world...

    Imperial and Cultivated Breed

Imperial does not have to be dominant. Dominance only matters for this particular generation. Your goal is imperial and fast, so breed the bees with the most imperial and most fast. You will have reached it when both the active and inactive traits are the same and the ones you want.

    Non-renewable Items?

Oil is renewable with Extra Bees, and I think soul sand can be gotten from scrap boxes. Renewable soul sand also makes for renewable nether stars. Quicksilver, amber and apatite are nonrenewable.

    Bee question

A moistener will get you mycelium. Mushrooms placed on it will tolerate any light level. Or place the mushroom in a sealed, dark box. It just has to be in range, bees don't need line of sight.

    Ghast Grinder

You could use a tesla coil to do the killing. Embed one in the ceiling above the spawner, supply power and a redstone signal, and it should be maintenance free. Direwolf did a similar build a while back.
