Mods that add Decorative Stone via worldgen.

I haven't made the jump to 1.7 yet so I can't vouch if it's any good, but I have been keeping an eye on Orizon for its marble stuff. It does generate colored stone that you can cobble and brick, nothing fancy compared to the rest of the suggestions already here, but hey, colors.

    Wrath Lamps?

The only other large-area lighting I know of are the Greg's Lighting floodlights, but they're probably going to be just as bad as the alternatives you've already tried. Short of single-block, wide lighting options, another trick is to build yourself some handsaws and make some forge microblocks...

What mods did Tobuscus use in Minecraft

Hey, as someone else who hasn't watched this, I felt it was worth mentioning that there were two mods that were known to add Green Sapphires. I didn't mean that GregTech is the only mod that added them, I just wanted to point ItzJavaV2 in the right direction for research. XyCraft was released...

What mods did Tobuscus use in Minecraft

I'm guessing Basalt Volcanos and Marble are from RedPower 2 (which would also add Green Sapphire, though so could GregTech). Copper, Tin, Lead, and Silver could be added by a number of mods, but I believe those were already in Thermal Expansion 2 at the time, though Forestry or IndustrialCraft...

    In-Game Docs: Guides vs Wikis

 I can't speak for everyone here, but if I were to check something while in game, I'd just have the documentation below the minecraft window, and I'd just be able to look at both at the same time. In practice, I'm a sad enough nerd that it just doesn't happen more than a few times...

    In-Game Docs: Guides vs Wikis

I know I'm soundly in the minority, but I prefer mod documentation to be external, whether it be on a Wiki, a forum post, a Google Doc, whatever. It gives me the opportunity to learn what things can be done and how without worrying about being encased in obsidian while idle in-game...

Enchanting Plus - NO XP required bug?

It's a multiplier, so higher is more expensive, and can go as low as 1, with 5 being the default. I don't know about where the max is. EnchantingPlus expects other mods to declare Enchantability caps and rates, so if enchantments from other mods seem incredibly off, the mod from whence they...

    Reloaded's Fruit Picker

For what it's worth and since we're already using MFR, I just use an Auto-Spawner with a Pech in a Safari Net to get around farming mana beans without golems. Though now I have a feeling that I'm on an old version and it either is gonna be stopped or has already been stopped.

Desktop vs Laptop for FTB ? and other tech questions

The long story short is that MacOS has been only 64-bit since 2010 (That was MacOS X 10.7 "Lion") and that Apple handles rolling out Java on their end, so only 64-bit java is available for it. However- and I say this as a mac fanboy- if you're concerned about spending money at all, you should...

How to research ethereal bloom in Thaumcraft 4.0.5b?

My experience was that you needed to research infusion before you would get the research for Ethereal Blooms, even though ethereal blooms do not use Infusion.

    Ars Magica 2 community spellbook

"The Magical Q Button" Self | Disarm If, for some odd reason, you don't want to magically dig holes or place hundreds of torches to gain Wizard Levels, you may cast this spell every 5-10 seconds for guaranteed experience. For best results, use a means of collecting dropped items directly to...
