At the end of the day, it's all about making something cool. It does not matter how long it takes. More effort is always going to be more impressive. A soul cage will always be less impressive than a huge mob system. Lots of options, lots of paths, no matter what your play style.

To many strict vanilla players, all mods are exploits. I'm not one of those people.

Golems with visors will cause the heads to drop, smart wooden golems can pick them up, and water can be used to flush all the exp into lava to avoid lag after your brain in a jar is full. edit: forgot to mention, use soul shards to make a wither skelly spawner

I think minecraft has room for more emulation. 8086 would be cool. Or m68k.

I got somthing working, I flush the trap with water every minute to remove all the exp. Some items are lost but eh. Thanks for the advice guys and getting the ideas rolling.

The other idea I had was lava, I doubt my wooden golems will like that idea though.

I tried using block breakers and deployers to remove the exp... But the exp is just released. The only reason I have visors on my golems is for wither heads... I don't want the exp.

My exp farm seems to fill up the brain in a jar pretty fast, which causes lots of orbs to sit about, which lags up the game. Any ideas what I could do to fix this issue?

Are you following MCPC-Plus dev nallar?

If I had to guess I'd say you messed up the extraction somehow? Try extracting it to a new folder and the just copying your world into it, in case you are doing something else.

Fill them from a router. You can tell a router which side to fill things from.

Naller: Does this work with an unpatched minecraft_server.jar? I run the forge jar (renamed the zip) with minecraft_server.jar in the same folder (forge will find it and runtime patch it) to make updating more simple. Does TT support this?

Wrath lamp is pretty good source of light for melting and preventing snow.

Update to 1.4.6 why not? do you find it buggy in your own experience? the forgecraft server uses it for clearing entities and I also saw the ftb guys using it to test ore rates on slowpokes stream, doesn't seem too bad..

Instead of picking on how things are done, I should help out some. I'll fork her and see what I can come up with
