    Not enough saplings...

Just make sure you don't have the redwood next to anything you like. When redwood leaves grow into something, they take the place of whatever block they grew into. This, coupled with the fact that they can easily have a radius of 6 or more, makes trying to keep one walled in a rather bad idea.

    Auto Enchanter

That's all Applied Energistics stuff. The thing on top is an Export Bus, which draws items out of the AE network and into the attached inventory. The wooden pipe is feeding the items into an Interface, which allows other mods' piping systems to connect to the AE network (in this case, the pipe...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Is there any way to stop redwoods from destroying everything that their leaves grow into? I made the mistake of setting up my planter+harvester right next to the plant that processes the wood and saplings into steam, and while I can live with just not being able to put up a pretty wall next to...

    Rubber Tree Harvester

That too. Probably better to just start with the multiblock farm.

    Rubber Tree Harvester

The rubber tree farms were disabled like a year ago, possibly more. The arboretum+logger pair handles rubber trees now (though you will still need a treetap in addition to the logger to collect sap spots), or you can go with one of the new multiblock farms (configured with rubber electron tubes...

    Automatic Door

I know the MFFS Defense Station can detect players in a range that you can define, but I'm not sure if you can make it emit a redstone signal to do anything other than its built-in functions.

Where is the line between contraption and exploit?

This is pretty much my approach. I'm not about to shy away from a fun project just because it reeks of exploitation.

    Extrabiomes saplings in a fermenter

Just testing it now, oak saplings seem to be working fine in a hopper, and I know mulch was working fine with buildcraft pipes and a hopper (which is how it's worked for as long as I've been using FtB), so I don't think it's a bug with how the fermenter's interacting with BC. I don't think...

    Extrabiomes saplings in a fermenter

Tubes seem to work, as do relays, so I could use a relay for the saplings in place of the hopper easily enough. I'd prefer to stick with just buildcraft pipes here, though, just for the sake of using only one system to keep things simpler. It'd also mean I'd need to add an overflow chest in...

    Extrabiomes saplings in a fermenter

I'm trying to set up a biofuel system with redwood saplings, and while they work for biomass since the update a couple weeks ago, they don't seem to like going into the fermenter automatically. Namely, hoppers don't feed them in, and attempting to pipe them in results in saplings on the ground...

    Water or Apple Juice

This is what I do. Buildcraft Gate on a structural pipe next to a squeezer that turns on a redstone signal when the juice tank is full (since doing it whenever there was anything in the tank would just result in excessive switching). This toggles a RP2 NOT Gate that's right next to a liquiduct...

Ways you play your game that people think is crazy.

According to my Minecraft-playing friends, using mods at all. I convinced them to try a tekkit server with me once. They got scared away by the sheer "YE GODS WHAT ARE ALL THESE ITEMS" aspect of it all. Naturally, they aren't even considering joining me for FtB.

Best lagfree sorting system? Pipes vs Tubes

Thinking about it, if you're feeding, say, a quarry into an enderchest, then you'd be looking at 1 energy to pull an ore out of the chest and into the network, 1 to pull it from the network and put it in an induction smelter, and then a maximum of 3 energy to pull the two ingots and one...

Best lagfree sorting system? Pipes vs Tubes

Fair enough. AE's also pretty amazing for that, and in that case starting with the network is definitely the better way to go, since you can then shove it all onto some drives when you've got them, while still being able to access the stuff via the terminal in the mean time. It's just a great...

Best lagfree sorting system? Pipes vs Tubes

It's how I've started with AE on the world I started recently. A single 16k drive in a chest holds almost everything I've found so far, and all I do is throw a charcoal into a stirling engine to activate it when I need it. I'll expand it into a network once I've got some proper power...
