Hi again.

I was on recently asking about silverwood. Well that has gone great so far, and I've got a thaumium silverwood wand. My next goal is making a thaumium silverwood staff. I've got full thaumaturges robes, along with the aforementioned wand to get the vis discount down enough to make the staff, but from what I understand I also need the Frugal 3 enchantment to get the vis cost below 100.

Here's my issue: I put a bowl on one corner of the altar, salis mundus on the opposite corner, made sure I had 24 fames and praecantatio, and finally put my thaumium wand in the center. the problem is, when I try to start the enchantment by clicking on the matrix with another wand, it doesn't start. Nothing happens at all, no matter what wand I use to click the matrix.

I've triple checked everything to make sure I had the correct aspects, items etc. And now I'm lost.

Am I missing something?

Thanks :)

(By the way I'm on FTB monster)

What wand? Don't think you can start the thing with anything less than a greatwood wand.

I'm trying to start the enchantment by clicking the matrix with a gold capped silverwood wand. That didn't work and so I tried a gold capped icy staff. Both were nearly full of all types of vis.

You have to enchant a wand cap and put the wand cap on the wand. Wands are no longer enchant-able as of Thaumcraft 4.

@pizzawolf Hey that's what I need to know. Thanks a lot. One other thing, since each wand/staff has two caps, do I need to enchant both of them or just one?

I just figured out the confusion after not being able to enchant caps either, and I wanted to post the info in case anyone finds it helpful. You have to enchant a wand focus, not caps. I put my uprising focus on there(wanted it to have less vis cost anyway, so bonus), and it enchanted without an issue.

What about the recharge enchant? Shouldn't that be a wand things, since it's vis based?
You mean Repair, right? That repairs TC Armor(and apparently not even all of it) and it is passive(and doesn't require a wand, though that may be the case in TC4.1 for 1.7 apparently).
