Thaumcraft help - what key did i press to turn off aspects?

It was working earlier today, but after I quit for a while and restarted FTB, I can no longer see the Thaumcraft aspects contained by items in my inventory. I've tried holding shift key down and control key, neither one works. What did I do?

Also I notice when I use my Thaumometer, I can't see any aspects either. Something is def broke.

Oh sorry, I'm in Monster pack if that matters.

Edit 1: This is worse than I thought, my Thaumometer is acting as if I've never identified anything before... as if the game thinks I'm starting Thaumcraft from the beginning (I'm almost at the end of it). Rebooting to see if that helps (didn't help, no change).
Why did all my Thaumcraft research reset itself????? I'm scanning items and it's telling me "You do not have all the knowledge required to understand this." Anyone else ever experience this or hear of this happening? I'm confused why this has happened, and kind of discouraged. All that work... thankfully my Thaumonicon seems okay, all my research in there is still visible, I've unlocked everything.

Common bug. But usually you loose everything, both research and aspect discoveries. I have resorted to just using the Cheatbook to redo all my research when it happens.

I'm not happy with the answer itself, but I am happy you informed me this is "normal".

If I return to an earlier world save, will this restore Thaumcraft to its state before this bug happened?

Edit to add: CONFIRMED. Reverting to an earlier world save has restored my Thaumcraft research. Now, the big decision... because I lost about 3 hours worth of work and I hate re-doing all that stuff again. sigh Sorry Thaumcraft, I think you lose.

Yeah it should do so.

Assuming an SSP game, you can copy *just* the level.dat from the earlier save as that will have your character data, and thus thaumcraft research status. You can keep your world progress intact.

SMP is even easier as you would restore just the yourplayername.dat file in the players folder.

Aha, okay yes I have had to do that once before when my world save got corrupted and had disappeared from the game. I didn't think to try that, so thanks, I'll give it a shot now. I have an idea, I'm gonna go into my game, remove everything from my hotbar and inventory, then exit and replace level.dat. Perhaps I won't even lose all my weapons and tools?

Edit: Didn't have to clear out my inventory first. Now I have two of everything. LOL But yeah, copying level.dat did the trick. now I have the best of both solutions! Thanks!

Yeah you would only have to remove items that you started carrying after that date of the old player.dat file.
