Thaumcraft 2 crystal textures.

I'm currently customizing a texture pack to be as close as the one i had in old modpack i used to er use, the only thing that i can't get working is the Thaumcraft crystals. i wish to replace the ones in Thaumcraft 3

Any thought, suggestions, insults, etc would be appreciated. By the by, this texture pack is painterly in case anybody was wondering about it.

I'll be blunt, that is impossible.
Replacing a block with a model is not something that texture packs can do.
Well at least not till 1.8.
