Alright, here's my problem. I have a mob farm, with Cursed Earth in complete darkness. a Grinder from MFR kills them as they spawn, and via an ender chest, transports the items to my ME system.

As of right now, I have wireless receivers to shut off the power to stop the grinders, however the only way to stop the cursed earth spawning is with water. A torch or light will destroy the earth.

Any way to deploy some water with a redstone signal AND suck the water back up when the signal goes off? Been tinkering and haven't found out a way yet...

A vanilla dispenser will do this, more or less. It will place water from a bucket or suck it up into a bucket but it does this when it recieves a redstone signal, so you will need a method (depending on mods available, or a vanilla redstone circuit) to send a pulse when the main line changes states.

lol I have seen Bevo's mob farm with cursed earth interestingly enough you could opted t use tinker's drawbridges.. with a deep pit below the cursed earth tiles

No need a deep pit, just fill the pits full of x5 punji sticks. Those hurts, just becareful when you are setting those up.

Thanks for the ideas guys. A dispenser will work for now...I just have to flip the switch twice to reactivate. I'll look into the punji idea...sounds very interesting.

I use drawbridges which drop the mobs onto Extra Utils conveyors which allow them to have a nice rest before dying horribly and turning into mod essence via grinders :)
But yeah a vanilla dispenser will work I had a fully automated vanilla mob grinder using dispensers timed with railcarts now that was fun to build.

In the latest version of ExtraUtilities, Cursed Earth is no longer destroyed in high light levels as long as it is not exposed to the sky.
