Mobs

I'm fairly new to FTB. I'm using the Beta Pack A 1.4.2. I'm having a really hard time finding any of the mobs (aside from the normal MC ones) I even went in creative and flew around for a while, just to see if I could find them, and I could not. - Just wondering, are they really rare.. or is there something I need to do? I apologize if this is a stupid question, and thank you in advance for your help.

Most new mobs are added by Twilight Forest, which is another dimension. You'll have to create a portal to it to encounter them. 2x2 hole in the ground, 1 deep, filled with water, surrounded by flowers, and throw a diamond in.

Hah. Then you should hear the method of entering Tropicraft. I'm eager for that one to get added to the pack(s). Slowpoke keeps mentioning the possibility of it being added in his streams.

It makes more sense than building a rectangle out of obsidian and setting it afire...
