Hey guys,

Modpack: Horizons

How do I make this HSLA steel, I have a smeltery and I made myself a blast furnace but I don't have any gunpowder so now I was wondering if there was any other way making this HSLA steel.
For other furnaces and motors I also need HSLA steel so I can't go around it.

Please help!

No, only RotaryCraft adds and uses this material, and only the RotaryCraft blast furnace can produce it. Gunpowder can be gotten easily by killing creepers - a single gunpowder item should be good for several stacks of steel, if you use all the slots in the furnace simulataneously (or at least, it was when I last tried it). There are also several mods that add cheap crafting recipes for gunpowder.

Frankly, in two years of playing Minecraft, both vanilla nd modded, I have never, EVER had any world where I did not have any gunpowder ;) I'm more likely to throw the stuff into a void chest because I have too much of it.

If you install Reliquary you can never have too much gunpowder, the Destruction Catalyst eats it at a prodigious rate. Though I am using a Hunter's backpack to carry enough to decimate my world lol
 
You can also always grab saltpeter and sulfur... I think there'ss a recipe for gunpowder invovling one of the two, if not both.
 
TC4's Firebats in the Nether drop gunpowder. A little easier to kill in my experience, especially with a TiCo Rapier.
 
I guess Mekanism added a new recipe for gunpowder? I'm seeing a 4 flint in a crusher (mekanism) or pulverizer (TE3) producing 1 gunpowder.

Not sure if it's still in the mod, but back in the 1.5 version there was a bug that no gunpowder would be consumed if it was in the blast furnace.
