Tree Farm - Orchard - How many trees per side?

I've been busy breeding trees and got my Chestnut trees last night. They are pretty big with 2x2 trunks. If I want to collect Chestnuts using a multiblock tree manual orchard farm, how many Chestnut trees can I place on each "side" of the farm? I know they have to be grown, but I am wondering how many I can physically fit on each side

I was thinking that the best I can do is 1 per side anyway, really. So perhaps I go with a medium large farm and plant one tree per side? Maybe even something smaller? I just don't know how the farm handles overhang.

Anyone have any experience here that they can share? I know that chopping down a walnut tree produces a tremendous amount of walnuts, I haven't cut down a chestnut tree yet, but I assume that it is the same amount of yield.

The farm will harvest all the leaves of any tree that is planted on its farmland, no matter how much overhang.

Even when it is harvesting fruits from the trees? Chestnuts in this case. To my knowledge it doesn't break leaves, it just harvests the fruit. I've never had one running though, so I'm not 100% sure.

Yes, I specifically tested that case in a test world. It gets them all.
