I'm looking to setup a DireWolf20 server for myself and maybe 2 other people to play on (but mainly just me, so I can let long-running stuff go when I'm offline). I was looking at CreeperHost. What size server do you guys recommend?

Or is another host recommended?

Without using the almost-always moronic naming systems server hosts use, the best way to judge sizing is that you will need between 512MB to 1024MB (1GB) of RAM/memory per user by the endgame (this factors in a few chunks left chunkloaded, but not massive chunkloaded areas).

That aside, you should try and find a host that provides server hosting as close as possible to your physical location. CreeperHost is, I believe, in the UK, so they are a good choice if you are based out of the UK, but otherwise you'll want to find one in your state, if not your city.

Good luck!

Well, they're based out of hte UK but seem to have datacenters in Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX, which are both equidistant from me. So it sounds like a 2GB server should work.

Yeah, make sure you are getting one of those (I'd suggest Dallas, TX personally from a network infrastructure standpoint, but both should be close to identical either way). Also, if they allow upgrading of servers (should be easy to do as they're just setting up virtual computers for each new "server"), you could start with a 1GB package and upgrade later if you find that you require more memory. It might be worth trying to save a few pennies that way, but otherwise 2Gb is likely where you will need to be.
