While I was on my server, the game crashed. I thought it was just FTB misbehaving. It happens, but then I load FTB again, it wants me to update to 1.0.6, which I do.

But now it refuses to let me back onto the server and flashes me an "[STDERR] java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftResources/", stops responding, and then after a while gives me an Internal Exception on Minecraft itself.

Judging by the log, I'm guessing Minecraft's login servers are down?

EDIT: It turns out it's not an FTB issue. It's Minecraft's session servers. [Sauce] Sorry, FTB!

Just so people know.

"[STDERR] java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftResources/""
Basically...

"IOException" = the fancy term for a failed connection from the terminal (your computer) to the server you're trying to connect to.
"500 for URL" basically is the code given to a failed connection like this.
"http://s3.amazonaws.com/MinecraftResources/" = The URL which houses the Minecraft Login/Session servers that you try to connect to when you log in to your account or try to get into a server.

I should have seen this before, so again I apologise.

Thanks bunches for catching that the servers are down. I'm at my inlaws using a rather slow computer, and probably never would have gotten the mojang website to load to check myself :P

No problem, hon.
I only realized after I posted it and spied the URL. Silly Amazon.

They don't seem happy with the amount of usage that minecraft is, well using. Between the Yogscast/Technic and DW20/FTB, a lot of people have joined the craze. Probably stress in areas they weren't expecting huge amounts of stress to occur.

It makes you wonder if Mojang's looking to find other hosts for their resources, though it's gonna be hard to find better then amazon I imagine.
