What this guy said, FeedTheBeast will never, ever, ever ever ever have an option for Offline mode.
Luke that is wrong. FTB is getting an offline mode BUT you still have to sign in once for a real one and also the offline only comes up when you have no internet or the minecraft servers are down.

I'll reword it to "Will never ever, ever ever ever have an offline (first time log in) option" ? ;o better? ;P
I've just hit this problem today at lunch. I had left FTB running when I put the computer to sleep before going to lunch and then at lunch, I loaded a new mod from a USB drive and then could not start FTB because I don't have Internet access at work for my peronal devices. I don't mind if you need to be online to set it up and I can even live with an online check at least once a week, not being able to start offline is killing me 
It may help to delete your login file in the folder you put your launcher in. Also, when you update, there is a chance it will not store saved information properly, so re-entering your u/p or deleting the login file should help as well.
I don't think this is what he's asking. If he had an unpaid account it would said something like non-premium account.
