I have optifine, what setting would I set?
i believe its the mipmapping options I'm not sure witch ones but enable it, set the type to linear and maybe enable the third

Just be careful, one of the mipmap settings gets really weird once you close minecraft and reopen. The clouds are divided into tiny squares and when you move, shadows ripple across the clouds and leaves.
Also, doesn't optifine make iron chests spin around and make your game crash if you use a chest upgrader?

Fantastic.

I've always liked the Reliant's engineering/nacelle setup:

I've recently been working on a script for wireless REther turtles w/ touch screen monitors for use as an elevator using frames. if your interested Ill post it when complete and you can use it in your build.

Have you considered using the Dark Xychorodite Bricks? They look really good and are perfect for mass use unlike 99% of Xycraft's blocks which are only for accents.

Sounds cool!

I've been experimenting with a couple different looks for the interior, dark with different color stripes down the middle seems to look pretty good for the floor. I like the no mob spawn quality of them. I'll get a better idea when I'm ready for that part though.

I'm finalizing a few things at the moment, should have (at least a beta) release soon. :) let me tell you how i had planned the elevator shaft to be:
at the bottom, i would have two frame motors, a deployer and block breaker. the up motor and the deployer would be triggered using wireless redstone. same thing with the down one (this will allow it to move mush faster, maybe (if supplied enough power) move continuously). at the top (or bottom) i would have a GPS tower/satellite so that the elevator can find its curent y position and move to which ever floor you wish (this also allows for it to work after crashes/log offs because it will know where it is). probably the first release i put out will not have touch screen support as i am not to familiar with them (yet) so, youll have to have the turtle visible for now. (I'll be commenting the code so that you know how to add floors and change the wireless frequency(by default its four and five)). (I may have some beta/alpha code commented out too BTW).
I will upload it through pastebin.
*sighs* that was quite a mouthful! :) and hope this helps you!

Still making progress, placing LOTS of blocks but not appearing to make much just due to scale!!

I'm at the point I can start working on the body of the ship. I just don't know if I want to have it connect with a "neck" (Like Enterprise A) or have it more integrated into the saucer section (like Enterprise E)..

Integrate it!

Also, you definitely need an iron golem with a visor in Engineering.

Status update time! It's been a while..

I've been working on a lot of other stuff alongside the ship, thaumcraft research, soul shards, etc..

Pics are better than words, so here goes!

Front starboard upper hull is nearly complete, I do have 17 stacks of iron blocks which should be enough to finish this section- or very close at least when I get around to it.

Rear starboard upper hull, have swapped out almost all of the stone for iron

Growing (slowly) a thaumcraft node. I may move it somewhere else in the ship at some point.

Tier 5 blaze spawner/exp farm in the DW20 style! Thinking about powering a solid fuel boiler with it.

Last pic for today, the aft engineering section. I really have no clue how I'm going to shape this yet, so I figured I'd just start building something and go from there. This will be the top outer hull.

I also have made some progress filling in the bottom saucer hull but still have a LONG ways to go there. Not nearly as far as the top hull though... I've started expanding my iron golem farm a bit as well since iron is the main limiting factor here.

Damn man, nice!

Iron is a puta, BUT there's neat ways to get more.

The solid fueled boiler is a great idea. One spawner can keep 2,5 of 'em topped. Get two of 'em and you can have 5. That's what I'm using on my world. I use all the power - every last bit of it - to produce lava. This goes into my double iron tank. The bottom part fuels my therms, the top part is the overflow tank and this feeds big ass battery of centrifuges which can deal with the full lava production if necessary. What you can do instead is use all of your lava and use it to make obsidian, pulverize and electrolize it for iron. And this ties into my second idea, you can power all of those IC machines with... methane from rotten meat. Yeah, just toss a few zombie spawners into the mix, use the rotten meat to power your machines and smelt the other drops for iron. The combined output should be pretty high.

Holy crap Boo you are rocking this.

Man now I feel all lame because ive been slacking... Damn work and RL getting in the way. Damn MC crashing all the time.

But yeah that is looking really good.

As for Iron limits... you can always use a stand in block then swap out later with a Wand of Trade.

Oh and a link to Where Ive been getting Boo from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minsc

Good idea for iron, and a good switch from pupming the nether dry like I've been doing for brass :) Magnesium is not useful at all, unlike tungsten.. I can extract & re-use the air cells, have to look up what to do with si cells.

Slacking? I have a full barrel of brass just cause it's so time consuming to count out all those dang blocks on the bottom hulls!!hoping to use half of it tonight before I go to bed.

I am using a lot of stone brick- my temp stand in material. I refuse to use cobble :) I got a book of charge 1 and put it on my wand of equal trade, I've burned through so many of those.

I kinda took a break from working on this. I upgraded to FTB ultimate minus EE and all the voxel crap, added back in Rei's minimap. They should dump the crappy voxel minimap for the good Rei's one, I have no clue what the FTB people were thinking with that choice. After the couple days down-time spent on that, I decided to take a break and work on bees! That, and some oddball other little things (hunting mystcraft pages, thaumcraft stuff) have been occupying my game time lately (had some IRL issues to deal with also).

I do finally have a good stockpile of iron blocks saved up ready to go, hopefully I can finish the saucer section hull this weekend and post some pics!

I'm also working on a frame - IC2 miner setup similar to what DW20 built. I'm trying to build one and not just copy it, but I think the remote controlled turtles may be the "best" way to do it. When I get enough crystals, I'll rebuild my storage and processing system using AE. Hopefully it will interface properly with all my machinery.

If looking for crystals, following a tunnel bore and fortune/silk touching the quartz on the walls it leaves is easiest(Unless you use a turtle strip mine at level 20-30). Could also use an arcane bore with fort/silk as well.
