20 combustion engines running off of biofuel, connected to a single redstone energy conduit line, which outputs to a redstone energy cell with input settings at 100 MJ/t will receive 95 MJ/t. That is 95% of the maximum charge rate of a redstone energy cell.

Make sure you Create the Energy Cube itself, after you pump the liquid Redstone into the frame, you take the (Now Filled) Cell Frame and it in a crafting GUI with 3 electrum ingots, 2 lead ingots, and a redstone conductance cell. Then take the newly crafted Energy Cell. After that, the energy cell itself is pretty universal in electricity, so hook any number of Engines into it. But there is no "Ultimate" way of charging it. It only has a Max of 100MJ/t input

yep. 100/t in and out.
so whatever setup you use, youre wasting power if you produce over that.

since you can break these w/o losing charge, i would set up a dedicated recharging site.
with two electric boost 2 upgrades per engine, which brings output to 10MJ, you can set up a short (3-4 unit) pipe system (redstone conduits or BC pipes, doesnt matter) feeding into a dedicated charging station. place cell, charge, break, place.
cell-pipe-4 engine-4engine-2engine, with appropriate redstone conduit settings.
with BC pipes/gates you should be able to set up so it kills power to the system when done charging. two gates, one set to red pipe signal when full, the other redstone pulse when red pipe signal, run to a splitter cable. of course, if you dont mind burning the power, you can leave it on so the engines stay at optimal temp/efficiency.

if youre running a quarry, just pipe the engines straight into it, they can now draw 100MJ/t, according to the MJ reader, confirmed for both ultimate and the new unleashed. these things drain energy cells FAST.

If space efficiency is your thing, consider my wireless MJ setup here (link here). It's no larger than 5x5x5 blocks.

It's 8 electrical engines with intricate circuit boards (2 tin tubes, 2 bronze tubes), each producing 14 mj/t. All the engines are powered by a MFSU that's powered by an ultimate solar panel. With 14mj/t, you cannot stack the engines behind each other as they will overheat very quickly. The design I have above keeps the engine at 135.0 celcius.

You'll only generate 75mj/t at the receiving tesseract side, but if it's not wireless, then you get your full 100mj/t. Furthermore, the design is such that your redstone energy cell in this setup should never run out of power since it's always getting more MJ than it can output. :)

The benefit of this approach too is that....relative to crazy setups with tonnes of machinery, you don't have to worry too much about CPU-overhead.
