AFIK, it's not changed. The machine blocks need iron plates rather than refined iron (ditto for the circuits), but other than that, they seem to be the same. 4 tree taps on either side of a machine block/circuit combo.
It may have been disabled in favor of the Automatic Extractor. This happened in 152wgt - all the IC2 machines had gregtech "Automatic" alternatives that you had to craft instead.
