Entities count spiking while active

Using DW20 1.0.11 pack, playing on an SMP with a couple players (3-4)

My entity count is on average about 20-30/70-80 using the debug menu, 24/72 right now. This spikes to 24/580 when I tab back into my game and start running around. If I open my chat with the T hotkey and start typing or alt-tab out, it jumps back down to around 80 for the second number. When the entity count spikes my fps drops terribly as well.

Opening anything like a chest, hitting escape, going into my ME Terminal, opening inventory all cause the entity count to drop back down to 80ish as well but upon closing them they spike back up.

Apparently in CONSOLE I get spammed with this CONSTANTLY while "active", about 5 times per second:
