Well, it looks nice, at least.
The storm blew. As it blew, the wind howled around the houses and blew away steel plates and livestock alike. The frightened people hid, and waited for the storm to pass.
Ashbite was ignoring everything. Snuggled inside his master's bag, next to a Thermos, he had all the warmth he needed.
Dog was less warm, but a fireplace served the purposes of the mutant.
Military training was not too hard, overall. It was the endurance tests that John wanted to be rid of. Now that he had a break, he trudged over to his bag, and had a drink, checking that the small bundle of fluff was still snugly tucked behind the Thermos that held his coffee.
Dog got up, and headed up and out. Being a mutant meant that he was constantly restless, but his mistress did not mind. Being young, and full of energy, she ran after him, her dress billowing out in the wind. Emily was not your standard young woman. For starters, she was headstrong, and would have willingly donned overalls instead of a dress every day.
Ashbite woke up and stuck his beak outside the bag. This was met by horrified shrieks from the Cleaner, who thought that there was a monster inside the bag. As he fainted dead away, Ashbite stuck his beak back in and started nuzzling the Hot water bottle.
Dog throughly enjoyed the rain. It was wonderful, and Dog would enjoy the water for as long as he lived.
