Magnopolis
Ever since the earth was devastated by meteor showers, the citizens of Magnopolis have stood alone. Technologically advanced, cybernetic modification is endemic in the city, and even the poorest have implant computers that hook them up to the urban network. Protected from damage by the forcefield erected by the Magnus Institute before the bombardment, the city stands as a shimmering beacon of hope to all survivors – at least, according to the news.
The truth is, as ever, somewhat more nuanced. The upper districts are indeed prosperous and everything anyone could want. Quality of living is high, many have high paid jobs in the technological industries and many of the menial tasks are taken care of by the advanced constructs created by the Institute. Conversely, the lower districts, called the Undercity, are noticeable different. Dark, dingy streets, deprived of sun by the upper districts, where the only illumination comes from the flickering neon signs advertising dingy little shops, tiny diners, and other businesses both legal and illegal. Wages are low, and housing is of poor quality. Diseases can rip through streets, and what few doctors exist are prohibitively expensive for most citizens.
The Director of the Magnus Institute, having been voted into power 30 years ago at the time of the meteor strikes, rules the city with an iron fist. Discrimination is rife, and roving groups of droids search for any who break the oppressive rulings or who speak against the Institute's rule.
The Rules of the Institute:
Despite the harsh restrictions placed on the citizenry, some have begun to band together. A renegade group has formed with the sole intention of bringing down the rule of the Institute. The Partition has begun a brutal guerilla campaign against the forces of the Institute within the bowels of the Undercity. Fighting using an array of both legal and illegal implants, the Partition have pushed the droid forces out of several areas. In response, Institute patrols have been intensified, and the Institute's own human operatives are preparing to move in to combat the renegades. The news reports their reckless disregard for civilian lives and property, and the loss and injury incurred by those who encountered them.
The truth, as ever, is somewhat more nuanced.

In this RP, you will play as either a low ranking member of the Institute or the Partition. You will have a total of 25 points to distribute across the following stats:
Power: Determines physical strength and damage
Precision: Determines attack hit chance
Durability: Provides resistance to physical damage
Health: Determines the amount of damage that can be taken before shutdown/death
Agility: Determines chance to avoid attacks
Hack: Determines network attack power, used for abilities
Firewall: Provides resistance to network attack damage.
You will also be able to use, either through training and prior experience or cybernetic augmentation, up to 3 abilities. I'm leaving the design of these open, however I reserve the right to buff or nerf the implementation of these abilities at any time.
This is an RP in which PvP as well as PvE combat will occur. Character death is a very real possibility. All combat will be resolved via dicerolls, so collaboration with a GM is required for the resolution of combat. With the explosion of technology and cybernetic approaches, weaponry is not as advanced as it might be. Conventional blades and firearms are the most commonly available, though still very illegal. Laser-based firearms also exist, but are significantly harder to acquire.
