So my friend and I have a private server for FTB Ultimate 1.4.7. We we're wondering if we could update our server to FTB Beta 1.5.2 and transfer our world to that server at the same time keeping everything in our ultimate world?

No, they use different ID's and the 1.5.2 packs do not have Redpower. The new FTB packs will be coming out soon and you will not be able to convert over to any of them as they use a different ID set and Unleashed will not have GregTech due to Greg crashing the game over 2 wooden planks and requesting that his mod not be put in a pack with TConstruct. Unhinged has GregTech but a totally different set of mods. So no matter which pack you go with, you will have to restart.
