Hi there!
I was just wondering if there are any good tutorials for making a wireless AE2-system (Not Wireless ME terminal)? Thing is that I want to take a load off of my server by removing as many cables as possible. Is this possible?

There is an addon that allows the use of wireless access-points as point to point bridges. But... if you think going down this route will help server load, then I am almost certain you will be disappointed.

Some people do mention AE cables (the basic fluix cables) as causing fps hits, and recommend using the covered versions instead.

But as for server load I strongly believe you are wasting time on the wrong things. Instead of I would concentrate on:
  • mobs/animals(AI is the number one worst resource hog in the game).
  • machines and automation doing unnecessary things(like OP farms and quarries gathering resources that noone will ever use/that just get voided).

Best bet is to just build your AE2 system in a compact space and use ender chests, tesseracts, or dimensional transceivers to send materials to and from remote locations. DW20 uses a ridiculous amount of cable in his bases.

Thanks for your replies! I figured that last time I overloaded my server I made very weird and unsophisticated use of cabled and thermal ducts. But I think I'm getting somewhere now. I'm trying to make as much use as possible from less resources.
