Why are Meteors Disabled?

you mean the meteors from AE2? Pretty sure that you are the only one here that likes them which is why they may have been changed to something else. I would also guess that they are problematic for big servers as it would become harder and harder for new players to find them

Well can they add an option to toggle them on and off. I found my Eldritch portal, my Stronghold and a whole bunch of sick biomes while looking for them. Now I can just make them...

I believe Creep is talking about the AE2 meteors which are part of world generation - while they look like they've caused damage, the world is generated like that.

Now that said, I do remember a mod that added meteors which did fall and cause damage, back in the Hexxit modpack - they even had bits which started off hot, and if you didn't mine them quickly enough would go cool and give you less useful stuff.
